But what if your machine is an industrial titan, and the pumps are delivering 400, 500, or even 600 liters of oil per minute?
At these parameters, compromises cease. The forces acting in the system are so monstrous that they require ultimate solutions.

1. CETOP 08 (NG25) – A caliber that commands respect
The NG25 designation tells us that the main flow channels inside the manifold block and valve are as large as 25 mm in diameter. This is no longer a hydraulic highway – it's a mighty artery, designed to transmit energy on a macro scale, without generating destructive pressure drops and temperature increases.
Directional valves of this standard are colossal units, often weighing several tens of kilograms. They are used where absolute force and maximum efficiency are required:

2. Pilot control – The unrivaled solution
If you look at a CETOP 08 directional valve, you'll notice the same thing as in NG16: a double construction ("valve on valve"). In this standard, direct control (solenoid only) is absolutely out of the question.
The spools in NG25 valves are so massive, and the oil resistance at flows of 400+ l/min so enormous, that no electromagnet would have the strength to move them. Therefore, electro-hydraulic (pilot) control is used as standard, reaching its extreme here.
When you apply current to the small pilot valve (NG6 or NG10) at the top, oil pressure powerfully moves the main, thick spool of the NG25 valve at the bottom. This is "pure hydraulics controlling pure hydraulics," providing reliability that no electric solenoids could offer.
3. Macro-scale serviceability – An invaluable advantage
Despite their colossal dimensions and double construction, CETOP 08 (NG25) directional valves retain the biggest advantage of the entire ISO 4401 standard: full interchangeability without disturbing the piping.
In systems with flows of 400-600 l/min, steel pipes or hoses often have a diameter of 1.5 or even 2 inches. They are rigid, heavy, and difficult to manipulate. Attempting to unbolt them to replace a valve in an old monoblock system would require a crane, huge wrenches, brute force, and likely result in spilling hundreds of liters of oil.
With a CETOP 08 plate-mounted system, all the massive piping is permanently screwed (or welded) into a robust connection block. If the directional valve fails, you simply unbolt six powerful bolts, remove the titan, and install a new one – regardless of the brand of the previous valve. A machine worth millions of zlotys quickly returns to operation.
