Hydraulic Solenoid Valves 4WEH32 (NG32 / CETOP 10)

Flow giants – over 1000 l/min. 4WEH32 spool valves are the largest standard solenoid valves on the market. The NG32 nominal size (CETOP 10) allows you to control the most powerful machines in heavy industry. The two-stage design (with pilot), operating pressure up to 350 bar, provides reliability where every liter of oil counts.

4WEH32 Manifolds – Extreme Performance (NG32)

In this category, we present solenoid valves with a nominal size of NG32 (designation according to ISO 4401-10, size 10 according to CETOP). These devices are designed for applications where smaller valves (NG16 or NG25) would constitute a bottleneck.

Design and Principle of Operation

Like the NG16 and NG25 models, the 4WEH32 valve is electro-hydraulically (pilot) controlled .
Due to the mass of the main spool and the enormous flow forces, direct override by the coil would be impossible. Therefore, a standard pilot solenoid (usually NG6) is located at the top of the body, which directs control pressure to the main spool faces, forcing it to move.

Technical Parameters

We offer valves that are 1:1 replacements for products from leading brands (Bosch Rexroth, Vickers, Parker, Atos).

  • Maximum flow: Up to 1100 l/min (depending on slide pattern and pressure difference).
  • Working pressure: Up to 350 bar (P, A, B) and up to 250 bar (T).
  • Weight: These are solid iron castings – the weight of one complete valve often exceeds 40 kg .
  • Installation: Requires specialized connection plates and high-strength bolts (M20).

Remote Control Configuration (X and Y)

Standard for this size is the ability to adjust the pilot power and drainage to the system requirements:

  • Power supply (X): Internal (from the main stream P) or External (from a separate control system, e.g. for pressure stability).
  • Drainage (Y): Internal (to T-channel) or External (directly to tank – recommended for high pressure surges in the return channel).
  • Tip: The configuration is usually changed by screwing/unscrewing the appropriate plugs inside the main body or in the pilot channel.

Application

Where is a flow of 1000 liters per minute needed?

  • Heavy industry: Large hydraulic presses, steel rolling mills, foundry equipment.
  • Mining: Hoisting machines, combines.
  • Offshore industry: Stabilization systems, powerful anchor winches.
  • Recycling: Scrap baler-shears (where high speed and force are required).

FAQ: Hydraulic Solenoid Valves 4WEH32 (NG32 / CETOP 10)

1. What are the maximum flow parameters for the 4WEH32 (CETOP 10) solenoid valve?

The 4WEH32 series are the largest standard directional control valves used in the industry.

  • Extreme flow: Due to the huge diameter of the internal passages (NG32), these valves are able to flow up to 1100 l/min (over 1000 liters of oil in just 60 seconds!).
  • Operating pressure: They operate safely at pressures of up to 315 bar (with peaks up to 350 bar), making them the foundation of the highest-power systems.
2. Where are such powerful splitters as NG32 most often used?

4WEH32 valves are at the heart of the most demanding industrial installations. They are used in applications such as:

  • Powerful hydraulic presses (e.g. for pressing car bodies).
  • Large-scale plastic injection molding machines.
  • Metallurgical machines, rolling mills and drive systems in steelworks.
  • Heavy shipbuilding equipment, water locks and dams (civil engineering).
3. How to prevent destructive water hammer at flows of 1000 l/min?

A sudden movement of the several-kilogram slide valve and a sudden interruption of the 1,100 l/min flow would generate a shock wave that could rupture pipes or destroy the pump. Therefore, the 4WEH32 series employs two mitigation methods:

  • Shift Time Chokes: A throttle plate mounted under the pilot valve helps reduce the pilot oil flow rate, making the huge main spool move slowly and smoothly (switching time can be extended from fractions of a second to even several seconds).
  • Main Spool Stroke Limiters: Special adjustment screws on the valve side covers mechanically limit how far the spool can extend. This allows you to precisely reduce the maximum flow through the valve, perfectly matching it to the actuator's needs.
4. Where does the pilot valve get the pressure to move the slide in such a huge distributor?

Such a large slide requires a significant force to move, therefore in the 4WEH32 valves (similarly to the NG16 and NG25) the configuration of the control channels X (supply) and Y (drain) is crucial:

  • Due to the enormous pressure drops and surges in the main working system of heavy machinery, external control (External Pilot / External Drain) is almost always recommended for NG32 valves.
  • This means that the small control solenoid valve at the top is fed by its own independent, stable oil circuit (e.g. from a small gear pump) via channel X, and the oil returns safely straight to the tank via channel Y, completely bypassing the turbulence in the main power circuit.
5. Can I replace an old CETOP 10 valve from another brand with the 4WEH32 from BRhydraulic?

Yes. The CETOP 10 marking (or the international standard ISO 4401-10 ) ensures that the mounting bolt spacing, port diameters (P, T, A, B, X, Y), and O-ring seal positions on the subplate are standardized. If your damaged valve (e.g., Rexroth, Vickers, Parker) had a size 10 mounting standard, our 4WEH32 series directional control valve will fit perfectly on the same subplate. Just remember to check the spool diagram (e.g., E, G, J, H) and the pilot coil voltage (e.g., 24V DC or 230V AC).
