1. How does the CETOP 05 (NG10) valve differ from the smaller CETOP 03 (NG6)?

The main difference lies in throughput and mounting standard:

  • Channel Size: In CETOP 05, the flow channels have a nominal diameter of 10 mm (NG10), allowing almost twice the oil flow compared to the smaller NG6.
  • Mounting: CETOP 05 valves are based on the ISO 4401-05 standard. They have a wider hole spacing and require thicker screws (typically M6), whereas CETOP 03 uses M5 screws.
2. When do I need to use an NG10 solenoid valve?

A key indicator is the efficiency of your hydraulic pump.
If the pump in your machine (e.g., a large press, loader, or injection molding machine) generates a flow of 80 to 120 l/min, a smaller distributor will choke the system. Using a CETOP 05 valve eliminates the "choking" of the pump, prevents drastic oil heating, and avoids drops in the working power of the cylinders.

3. What operating pressure can CETOP 05 directional control valves withstand?

These components are designed for heavy-duty applications. Standard 4WE10 series models available at BRhydraulic can withstand pressures of 315 bar (up to 350 bar in some configurations) on the main supply ports (P) and cylinder outputs (A, B). The pressure on the return port (T) should typically not exceed 210 bar.

4. Are the solenoids in CETOP 05 the same as in smaller valves?

No. Because the spool inside the NG10 distributor is larger and heavier, and the oil flow (up to 120 l/min) creates significantly greater hydrodynamic resistance, these valves require larger and more powerful solenoid coils. A standard coil from an NG6 would not have the strength to move the spool in an NG10 valve under full pressure. We offer appropriate, reinforced 12V, 24V, and 230V coils.

5. Can I mount a CETOP 05 valve on a CETOP 03 subplate?

Absolutely not. Due to different ISO standards (hole spacing and size of sealing O-rings), a CETOP 05 valve will not fit an NG6 manifold. When expanding the system with a larger solenoid valve, you must also purchase a dedicated NG10 (CETOP 05) connection plate, which you can also find in our assortment.
